François Legros, a softly spoken and methodical native of Nuits-Saint-Georges, has gained a reputation for producing wines of exceptional finesse and elegance. The Domaine was established in 1988, following the inheritance of several prized vineyard parcels from François’ parents and his uncle. In 1999, the estate expanded with the addition of Saint-Aubin vineyards passed down from his father-in-law, which included two hectares of Chardonnay, further enriching the domaine’s portfolio.

With an unwavering commitment to organic practices, the domaine thrives through meticulous vineyard management. François ensures a strict berry-by-berry selection during harvest, ensuring only the highest quality fruit makes it to the winery. The fruit is gently de-stemmed, and the winemaking process follows traditional methods, with 25% new oak used from four different, carefully selected coopers to enhance the wines without overshadowing the purity of the fruit. The wines from Domaine François Legros are a true reflection of their terroir—offering transparency, precision, and an excellent value for their quality, all while showcasing the intricate character of their appellations.
