Domaine de la Madone was founded in the 1940s by the Despres family, who have been cultivating the Madonna Hill in Fleurie since the 16th century. This rich history of winemaking has been passed down through generations, imbuing the estate with an unwavering commitment to the pink granite of Fleurie. The Despres Fleurie is a standout expression of this heritage, consistently offering fleshy, refined, buoyant and luxurious wines, crafted from their unique terroir.

Currently transitioning the entire Estate to organic practices. The family employs traditional winemaking techniques, drawing on the wisdom of their sixty to eighty-year-old goblet-trained vines. This careful approach imparts complexity, character, and depth to the wines, setting them apart from the typical Beaujolais style.
