Château Le Bon Pasteur
Château Le Bon Pasteur, established in 1865, is uniquely positioned at the border of Pomerol and Saint-Émilion, blending the power of Pomerol with the finesse of Saint-Émilion. The vineyard comprises 21 small plots acquired between 1920 and 1955, some near Château Pétrus, where blue-grey subsoils rich in iron enhance complexity and longevity.
Farmed sustainably with Burgundian-style parcel management, the estate employs meticulous intra-parcel selection, hand harvesting, and rigorous sorting. Vinification begins with a five-to-seven-day maceration à froid, followed by natural fermentation and 15–18 months of aging in up to 70% new French oak. The result is refined, elegant wines that balance richness, structure, and terroir-driven purity.
